The hosts
Víctor, Catalina
and the whole family
We are Víctor and Catalina — we met at university, fell in love long-distance and ended up together in Puerto Montt, with our three dogs and a quiet life working remotely.
A trip to Patagonia changed everything. We arrived at the ranch and something captivated us: the land, the silence, the slow and deep rhythm of the Patagonian countryside. It did not take us long to decide. We moved to La Junta to begin a new life.
This is exactly what we loved: nature, tranquility and a project where we can show others what country life in Patagonia is like.
And yes, there are also Aska, Balthus and Lola — the ranch's three dogs, expert guardians and enthusiastic guides for any adventure.

Our origins
The story
of the ranch
Víctor Alvarado and Sonia Lacrampe discovered La Junta, a magical corner of Chilean Patagonia. They were enchanted by the area and decided to start a new life there. They found a piece of land they fell in love with and founded Rancho Doble AA, a cattle estate and pioneering tourist complex in the region, which welcomed visitors from all over the world during the 90s and 2000s.
Víctor and Sonia worked the land and the cabins until 2018, when health problems forced them to move to the city. Tourism activity stopped and the ranch was put on pause, waiting.
Víctor and Sonia's youngest grandson returned with a new dream: to revive his grandparents' work and bring this beautiful place back to life, continuing that story of hope and passion for country life and Patagonia.
Welcome back to Rancho Doble AA,
now called Rancho Patagón!
